Comment arrêter le cododo lorsque votre enfant ne veut pas ?

How to stop co-sleeping when your child doesn't want to?

Getting a stubborn older child to sleep in their own bed through the night is much harder than sleep training a baby — a great reason to start sleep training as early as possible. Here are step-by-step instructions for getting willing toddlers to sleep through the night in their own bed:

Discover our Mom & Kids collection.

Steps to follow :

1. Determination: No matter how stubborn your child is, decide that no matter what happens, you will be more stubborn than him.

2. Preparation: Tell your child in advance that he is big now and needs to sleep in his own bed. This way, he will understand your expectations. If you live in a condo or apartment with thin walls, warn neighbors that they may hear screaming for a few days. If you live with Grandma and Grandpa, tell them that they will have to put up with the crying for a little while.

3. Quiet Time: After bathing, read books together with your child.

4. Bedtime: Before going to sleep, give your child a hug and a kiss, and say goodnight.

    5. Leave the Room: Leave the room.

    6. Return to Bed: When your child leaves the room, gently but firmly return him or her to bed with minimal excitement or interaction.

    7. Repeat: When your child leaves the room again, repeat step six.

    8. Perseverance: When your child walks out of the room for the 75th time three hours later, and you're ready to collapse from exhaustion, stay strong, and don't give in. Hold on and follow your plan. Eventually, your child will get tired, give up, and go to bed. Never let your child sleep in your bed again. 100% perseverance is essential.

    9. Celebration: Celebrate by spending a date night with your partner!

PS: I learned the "return to bed" technique from Super Nanny . It really works.
